Parent Children Relationship – Life Coach Ritu Singal

In this blog, you will learn how to develop a parent children relationship, along with the definition, importance, benefits, and problems of parent child relationships.

They Say…
‘Behind Every Child, Who Believes In Himself, Is A Parent Who Believed Him First’

Just like the above-statement, a parent-child relationship is so pure that no other relationship, love, or bond can replace it.

The saying which says, ‘Parents Are God’ actually describes it all. A parent can sleep on the wet floor but will always provide the child with a comfortable bed. They can never let the child face any problem

But, we get mad at God also. The same is with the parents. If love is remaining the same in a relationship, that doesn’t mean, it is perfect

Sometimes life puts people into situations where they face issues in parent children relationship and leave them helpless.

The hopelessness and these problems sometimes lead to dangerous and life-taking decisions.

Do you want to know the problems people face in a parent children relationship?

But, before that, it is very important to know what a parent child relationship actually is, and why it is important?

So, Here We Go…

What is the Definition Of Parent Children Relationship?

This relationship refers to a bond between a parent and their children. It is the purest and the most beautiful relationship in the world.
They say, ‘you are lucky if you have parents’. And for the parents, they say – ‘ you are lucky that you have children’.

To understand the parent child relationship, we should take a count at the habits where the parent and kid connect with one another truly, deeply, and socially.

The Positive Parent Child Relationship is one that sustains the physical, emotional, and social improvement of the child and the parent. It is an extraordinary bond that each child and parent appreciate and sustain. This relationship establishes the structure of the child’s character, life decisions, and general conduct.

A child always grows while looking at his/her parent. Their behavioral problems and actions are followed by the actions of their parents. Without a parent or child, the life of a human being is complete

This takes us to the next part of the blog…

What is the Importance Of Parent and Child Relationship?

In human life, the circle goes on from birth to death. Meanwhile, a child meets a lot of people and situations. But, the most secure attachment and safest place he/she finds is the lap of their parents. Similarly, the life of a parent after giving birth to their child roams around them only

A child develops his/her character, values, norms, habits, etc similar to his/her parents. Similarly, the parent also learns a lot from their child.

In simple words, the world has the cycle of birth and death going on. But, it has given a human the pleasure of being a child as well as a parent to learn and to teach beautiful values of our universe and share amazing lives together.

So, having a parent and a child to enjoy the beauty of God and his amazing life tests. So, this depicts that the relationship between a parent and child is very important.

The story of Charlie Chaplin’s mother Hannah Chaplin and the mother of Albert Einstein are the two great examples of parent child relationships. They teach us how they taught their children and inspired them despite telling their children the actual truth.

Albert’s name was struck off from his school because of being a poor child and falling but, his mother always told him that he got out because he was so intelligent that the school is not the right platform to show his intelligence. She said the school says your child is too brilliant and we have don’t have that capacity to team your child.

The spirit of his mother to keep him going always helped him to grow and better. Where on the other hand, Albert went on going to achieve his goals and now stand today as the great scientist by the name Albert Einstein. But, the truth was, his school relieved him because he was poor and dumb, but the way his mother inspired him throughout life.

So, if you want to be a good parent and want your children to grow just like einstein did, be like his mother.

Be like Charlie Chaplin’s mother who kept on supporting her child being not able to talk.

Benefits Of A Healthy Child And Parent Relation

Young children who develop with a protected and sound connection to their parents have a superior potential for success of creating cheerful connections with others in their life.

It boosts the kid’s psychological, phonetic, and enthusiastic turn of events.

Positive parent contribution and mediation in the kid’s day to day life establish the framework for better social and scholastic abilities.

A protected connection prompts a sound social, enthusiastic, intellectual, and inspirational turn of events. Kids likewise increase solid critical thinking aptitudes when they have a positive relationship with their folks.

Be The Role Model For Your Child –

children do what they see. Teenagers adopt all the things they see going on in their house. Even if they are with their friends or someone else they behave what they see and speak what they listen to.

So, the healthy parent should be very careful and specific about the thing they speak and portray in front of their child to help them adapt to the good things.

Set Rules At Home –

Some rules should be set to help children maintain a kind of discipline and enjoy the family time they get with their parents. Set rules like, no use of the phone at the dining table, family time is family time, Sunday’s for outings, etc. These kinds of rules help children to be involved in the family because, at this age, teenagers tend to get distracted very easily.

Your Guide to Stress-Free Parenting

Your Guide to Stress-Free Parenting

The dictionary definition of parenting is ‘the capacity to provide for the development of their children; the exercise of individual responsibility and the dependence of the child on both adults (parents) and other people.’

The idea of having a healthy relationship between parents and children is critical in parenting as it ensures that the child develops healthy interactions and social skills. The most common characteristic shared by all the models of parenting is respect for the child’s feelings and trust in the other person (another parent). All the models of parenting are different and unique from each other, but they all share the concern and focus on the well-being of the child, to help them develop into responsible and mature citizens when they grow up.

Being a single mother to two daughters, parenting was not stress-free for me initially. With my husband’s untimely demise, I was left in a very devastated state, where parenting and handling the family alone seemed impossible. However, I decided not to let my confidence shake. I only wanted the best for my daughters, and made sure I raised them to be independent and intelligent.

Today, both my daughters are doing extraordinary things in their respective careers. One lesson that I’ve learnt through my parenting journey is that ‘stress’ about parenting never helps. I understand parents fear of being perfect because they don’t want their kids to grow up and say, “ Aapne humare liye kiya hi kya hai?” (what have you even done for us).

Almost every parent takes the stress of being perfect, so their children love and respect them. However, many times, in the urge of being perfect, we forget to be helpful to our children. Our children do not want perfect parents, they want helpful and understanding parents. If you even make simple changes to your parenting methods, you’ll see how stress-free positive parenting is.

A Healthy Model of Parenting

The most common theories of parenting focus on the involvement of both parents in their child’s life. The theory says that parents create a positive image and influence their children’s behavior and approach towards socialization. The involvement of both parents improves the child’s interaction and socialization skills with other people and strengthens the family unit as a whole. The involvement of both parents also initiates and enhances the children’s physical, mental and emotional development, resulting in a healthier child.

Why Parents Find Parenting Stressful?

  • Always living in the past

The reason behind stress in parents is that they are living in the past. A parent needs to live in the present moment, for this moment will not last forever. You should be living in the future and hope to see your children mature in time. It will give you enough time to raise your children properly without living in the past. Therefore, instead of living in the past or future, you should live in today and have faith that the future is bright and you can see your children happy in the future. Many times, parents continue judging their children based on their past mistakes. It stresses the parents about a child’s future. However, a child learns from mistakes and moves forward and so should the parents.

  • Negative talk and approach

One of the main reasons parents stress so much is because they use negative talk and approaches. As a parent, you need to know what your child’s capabilities and limitations are. You also need to be able to communicate your ideas to them in such a way that they understand and feel comfortable with them. When you do this the level of stress you experience in your relationship with your child will go down.

A big part of building and rebuilding trust as a parent is to get your kids to open up to you. One way that you can do this is to use a positive approach in your conversations with your kids. Rather than just telling your kids what they did wrong, try going back to what they did right and compliment your kids on the things they did right. Try talking to them as if they were your child and trying to convey that you want them to do the same thing – approach everyone they meet in school, at church, or in their social activities.

It is also a mistake to tell your kids that everything is going to be OK as long as you are around. Kids respond very well to positive feedback, and when you tell them things like that it gives them hope and builds on their self-esteem. Instead of worrying about what your kids are thinking, talk to them about what they are feeling and how they might be feeling.

  • Not accepting our mistakes in front of children

Most of the parents stress out when their kids do not understand what they have done wrong. It is because of the fear that their kids will make a mistake and then start crying or throwing a fit. If you are having this sort of tension and worries you need to accept your mistakes as the children do not see anything wrong with it.

If you accept your mistakes you can easily move on with your life and not dwell on them much. You just need to focus on positive things. Children usually tend to get into fights or arguments when they do not get proper appreciation or accept the mistakes. They tend to be stubborn and do not really want to accept what has been done to them. They think it is better not to let any other person ever make them feel guilty. If you do not want to quarrel with your kids all the time then it is the best option to accept each other’s mistakes and move on.

Sometimes it is also seen that children, due to the age difference between them and their parents, tend to forget or ignore the mistakes. It is the time when the parents begin to stress out and ask themselves why their child does not let them know what has been done. It is very important to accept your mistakes and at the same time have some kind of a positive response to them so that it does not create any negative impact on your children. Therefore, always keep in mind that not accepting things is one of the main reasons for stress in your life.

  • Constantly trying to find faults with the children

Constantly trying to find faults with your kids is a surefire way of driving them away from you. Kids are natural creatures who would rather be anywhere else than with their parents. The minute you start criticizing your kid or making statements about them in front of other people, they will run from you and never want to see you again. Kids are very sensitive to criticism, and the minute you start making it on them, they feel it all the more. If they see that you are always trying to find reasons to criticize them, they will get the feeling that all of this is a part of their growing up and that they are not accepted by you.

If you are doing this, then you are sending the message that you don’t think highly of yourself, and this will definitely have an effect on your child. Constantly trying to find faults with the child sends the message that you are not content with where they are and that you think they are not good enough for you. It will definitely instill a sense of insecurity in your child that they will try their best not to let happen again.

  • Explain Your Intentions

Parenting is a difficult task, but it doesn’t mean that a parent cannot explain the reasons behind his/her decisions or actions to their kids. One of the most important reasons why a parent should explain properly to their children is that a kid grows up with his/her own set of beliefs, morals, and thoughts which are separate from the parent’s set of ideas and beliefs. Hence, when your child does something that you believe is bad for him/her the kid has a reason to believe that same thing. Hence, when you explain to your child the reason behind his/her actions, you make the kid realize that what he/she is doing is wrong.

Parents need to find a way to explain properly to their children all the reasons. You can use stories, play, or read books about it. However, using tools or any technology will spoil the effect or impact on your kid’s mind. It is very important to understand that your child grows up very quickly and everything that you do will be very important in his/her life in the future. So, it is always advisable to explain your reasons to your child so that he/she understands it in a better manner.

Positive Parenting and Parenting Techniques

Positive parenting is about making effective child-rearing decisions that reflect your values, beliefs as a parent, the child’s early age and developmental stage of development, and also his or her personality.

Positive parenting also means addressing the common challenges that arise in the home environment and dealing with them head-on instead of shying away from them like some people tend to do. A strong positive parenting mindset can result in your children being much happier and healthier both inside and outside the home.

In particular, I would like to encourage parents to focus on behaviors like self-discipline by setting good examples for their children. This requires both the parents to set a good example so that the next generation of leaders have a firm grasp of these fundamental values.

Children will pick up on basic positive disciplines from their parents and this will create a positive upbringing for them as well. In this regard, I would like to stress the importance of early childhood education and the need for parents to find ways of working with a parenting coach in early childhood development to ensure their children are well supported.

Here are some positive parenting techniques that you can apply:

  • Be Their Friends First, parents Later

How to build a connection with a child to gain cooperation has been the most daunting challenge of parenting. Parents wish to ensure that their children are taken care of in all aspects of their lives but they have limited knowledge on how to do this successfully. Parents need to be able to build positive relationships and trust with their children. There are a few simple tips and strategies on how to go about building a positive relationship with your child to gain complete trust and cooperation.

Building positive relationships with your child can be accomplished by simply opening your heart and showing your child that you love them without expecting a response. It will instantly build trust, and you will be able to show your child that you do indeed care for them. Another effective way on how to gain complete cooperation from your child is to praise your child when they do something right. Kids tend to mimic the things repeated by adults therefore if your child says something good, they might be praised while doing the same thing.

The last tip is to establish positive role models for your child. Children tend to imitate their parents therefore if your parents act in a friendly manner with other people, your child will also be likely to act that way towards other people as well. You can also gain cooperation from your child by praising them when they do an excellent job. All these behaviors from you will create an ideal and healthy relationship between you and your child. If you are looking for professional help the  you can take parent counseling service, it is beneficial because it provides you with an outside view of what is going on within the walls of your home.

  • Be Firm, but Loving

There are many things that children do that parents do not approve of. Some parents are so strict that they actually punish their kids when they do not follow their rules and regulations.

Parents who are loving and let their kids do whatever they want as long as they do not break the law and harm anybody else are usually the parents that come to mind when I think about parenting styles. Being loving and letting your kids do whatever they want does not mean you give up on your parental responsibilities for your own safety. These are the parents that take a little bit too much time to get to know their kids and figure out what the child’s personality is.Sometimes it is better to be a little more loving and a little less strict than being too strict and totally neglectful of your kids.

  • Be Open To Logical Consequences

Logical consequences, also known as justifications, are an important tool for effective parenting. They can be used to reinforce positive behavior while discouraging inappropriate behavior or unwanted behaviors from children. Parents must be careful to use these consequences so that they do not unintentionally make their children feel guilty or bad about themselves. A child will be confused about what the consequence is and might start to act out in response. Therefore, a parent must create consequences that are logical and reasonable.

A child’s reaction to negative experiences could be influenced by previous negative experiences that they have had. Therefore, a good parent will take the time to consider how their actions affect the child’s behavior. Logical consequences will help the parent make sure that they do not inadvertently cause the child more harm than good. A parent who gives in to their child’s demands may cause the child to act out more so that they will feel justified in getting what they want. Therefore, the child will also gain more power over them by using logic to get what they want.

A child’s behavior can be affected by the environment they are raised in as well. Many children grow up in loving and caring homes where parents use rational consequences so that they do not inadvertently hurt the child. Unfortunately, many children grow up in homes where parents do not practice rational thinking and will unintentionally hurt the child because of their harsh words and emotions. Parents need to realize that it is not the child who is being harmed by their actions but rather the parents. Parents can teach their children to think and reason out logically before acting on impulse or emotion.

  • Model Respect

So I’m sitting here trying to explain to a 4-year-old girl why she needs to model respect for others? She’s a great kid, we’ve been going through the same things, and she doesn’t seem to get it. She knows what’s expected of her and that’s what she does, but she doesn’t have anyone to ask these questions to. Why? Because she doesn’t know any better, and if she does, she doesn’t want to hear it.

So I need to go out on my own and tell her that you can teach your kids to be respectful, you can show them what to do when they do something wrong by modeling respect. I know it sounds like an oversimplified way of saying the model, but the point is that when you model something to your children, they copy you. That means that they do have to get it to do it.

It is my belief that parents of young kids should teach their kids to respect everyone and especially those who are older and more respected. Respect means treating someone the way you would like to be treated. Model respect by being sure to answer the door with a “Merry” or a “Hello” when someone comes to visit, even if you don’t know them. Kids need to see that there is a reason for doing things right and that when you model respect, they will also model it themselves.

Conclusion

The concept of parenting has a lot to do with positive parenting, and that’s why it’s important to do everything you can to help your children develop the best type of personality. Children who grow up feeling emotionally secure and accepting of themselves usually turn out well as they enter adulthood, and are often happy people with high self-esteem. Parents who don’t understand this or don’t practice it can create serious problems for their children, though. Positive parenting is very important for the better growth of their children.

Why Hiring the Wrong People Can Kill Your Startup’s Growth?

Why Hiring the Wrong People Can Kill Your Startup’s Growth?

Dreams Gone Sour

Start-ups are an infectious lot – a single one can begin a great many, which in turn, can trigger many more to spring up.  And with ample funding opportunities available from Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors and Private Equity players, it’s not surprising that in India, too, we see a raft of start-ups, mostly technology-based, mushrooming with each passing day. Actually, we are witness to a whole eco-system developing around start- ups (Start up India, Incubation Centres and the like). Many of them command great market valuations but since none of them has gone public so far, it’s difficult to say anything about their financial success with a degree of accuracy.

Increasingly, corporate counselling in India has begun focusing on this issue with a lot of interest. Personally, since I am into corporate counselling as well, I also get a lot of queries for help from people managing start-ups. If you are one of those who were hell-bent on creating a startup, you were likely desperate to free yourself from the drudgery of your previous job. But having begun your own thing, you find yourself swarmed with newer problems – financial, technological and people-oriented. A Harvard Business School study (and my personal and anecdotal experience, too) reveals that more than 90% of all new businesses fold up by their third birthday. There could be endless number of reasons for this humongous proportion of failures. But the people problem has killed many a new enterprise much more often than have other factors.

Companies aren’t about any product or service in particular. Essentially, business is all about people as it constantly deals with different sets of people only- customers, employees, vendors. You can put the wrong ones on work and kiss goodbye to those dreams of growth. Talent recruitment is the backbone of any business but if your employees can’t handle their tasks adequately, your business may go for a toss. Sound recruitment strategies are particularly vital to startups as they already face the challenge of catching up with older, established brands. Finding the best fit means recruiting those who have the skills you need and can work well with your team. Achieving this perfect fit is a challenge that entrepreneurs must rise to.

People Issues

Though most startups have an obsession with lean teams e.g. when Facebook bought out Instagram (for $1 billion), the company had just 13 employees on rolls. But disregarding numbers, taking someone on your payroll is a major step but if you are in the unpredictable world of startups, it could literally make or break your business. Besides the apparent financial cost of a bad hiring decision (from 30% of an employee’s first-year earnings to, to quote the Zappos CEO, “well over $100 million.”), the cost in terms of the current team’s morale and productivity is just incalculable. Remember, the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts!

People are quite unlike machines as they cannot be ordered overnight and every worker is unique; you can’t have a clone ready. Therefore, finding the right hire, training, developing and nurturing their talent to retain them in the long run is an art, which needs to be mastered by every wannabe entrepreneur.

Un (importance) of experience

The mindset of entrepreneurs dictates that they would value experience over inexperience. That’s quite commonsensical, too. So it’s often very tempting to go for the person with the flashiest track record. But remember, a start-up by definition, breaks new grounds. Most often, people with the lengthiest track records in a business are too constrained by their learning and would fight shy of trying out new things. That’s where the (un) importance of experience lies. Such veterans may have to do a lot of unlearning while working in a start-up.

Despite popular belief, less experienced candidates often tend to outperform the more traditionally-qualified counterparts, at least in start-ups. Very often, fresh minds and fresh blood can lead to radical shift in the way a business handles its sales and marketing to redefine success. It happens because experienced candidates in a team carry the legacy of a bias for how their experience should be used, compared to less experienced who are hungry to learn.

Rushing into it

Haste always makes waste. So block your calendar and dedicate that time to crafting a well-considered plan to cover

  1. When will you hire?
  2.  What are the revenue and growth markers?
  3. Whom will you hire for each role — Specialist vs. generalist, experience vs. potential?
  4. How do you know that you have found “the one” —  Values, systems and processes?

You may have to invest some time and energy but it will pay back by steering you away from classic startup mistakes such as hiring your best friend or people who did well in the interview but didn’t actually gel with your company’s unique culture. Are you ready for gold? Or are you prone to compromise? When it comes to people, there can be no in-between. Don’t believe that it’s a good idea to put a warm body in a chair even if it’s not the right body. Adopting this philosophy will burn your business over and over.

Résumés Tell Nothing

Many startups use irrelevant credentials to define a “good hire.” The CEO of Basecamp Jason Fried is a poster boy in the startup world for his radical but pragmatic approach to hiring. You may be shocked to hear him say “We basically throw résumés out of the door”. Basecamp doesn’t care if someone went to an Ivy League university or a teaching shop as they want to know if the hire can do what they say they can do. That’s why they focus on the covering letter and ask the candidate to corroborate their words with a sample project.

Skyrocketing Turnover

Poor employees make unhappy workers and also make good employees miserable. The pandemic has caused most interviews to go virtual, which may not change in the foreseeable future. Still, that’s no reason to hire the first one who looks good on paper. Virtual interviews can be made as substantive and interactive as long as you use the appropriate tools.

For instance, while hiring a software engineer, you can sift through résumés and cover letters to narrow down your choices. But during a code interview, the interviewer can see how someone codes in real-time. You can get a feeling of not only the candidate’s talent, but their workplace suitability, too. If you hire a great coder, who doesn’t gel well with the team, other employees will head for the exit door. Bringing a new employee on board always interrupts the normal workflow. Managers and co-workers are less productive when they’re training a new hire. But if you take all the necessary steps to hire the right person, the return on investment is worth it.

It Reduces Revenue

Hiring is costly. It costs companies up to a third of an employee’s salary to find a replacement. If it takes you a third time to have the right hire, you lose an entire year’s worth of work for the money. Bringing the wrong employee on board is a waste of both time and energy, which is a drain on revenues. And for a startup, its pockets are often not deep enough to sustain such losses. So make sure you put the right person in the right place to reduce problems.

Erosion of Confidence

Remember, the Start Up of the Year was not made in a day. It must have taken it years and years of diligent hard work to achieve the title. Like other companies, startups, too, have to work diligently to earn the trust of stakeholders i.e. customers, employees and investors. Social media can play a great role in making the brands relatable, cultivating loyalty, and allowing companies to respond personally to customers. But if disgruntled employees badmouth a brand on social media, such complaints spread like a wildfire. Also take into consideration the attrition among existing employees when you recruit the wrong people. Customers and vendors love consistency and if they’re forced to deal repeatedly with someone new, they are going to lose trust in your company as consistency and relatability build trust.

Invest right, business bright

Successful startups often credit their team for their success majorly due to the immense impact an early hire can have on shaping their growth stories. A great team is built along the journey traversed together by its members. But the starting point remains the right people. Hiring employees who are aligned with the company culture and match the required technical skills, can bring about success more quickly.

POA

There is nothing like a solo entrepreneur. Nobody did it alone. The legendary investor Warren Buffett spent years trying to convince his longtime friend Charlie Munger to be a business partner but never went elsewhere. He knew Charlie was the man he wanted and he did everything to get him on board. The people you choose to work with have the ability to make or break your business. If you look at research on why startups don’t make it, the wrong team is among the top reasons. You need to be selective and strategic about your team. Nothing kills  a startup faster than having to put out fires every day.

  1. Begin with the beginner

Self-awareness is the foundation of everything good. A formidable team begins with you as the reality is, you don’t have every single skill to scale a startup. First, objectively assess your own skill set.

  1. What are you great at?
  2.  What do you lack?

(Negotiations, Customer service, marketing, technical stuff, liasioning etc) And it’s about hard and soft skills, both. Your personality, values, and beliefs need to be considered. Once you’ve got a grasp of what you can offer, you can start thinking about your team:

  1. Do what you’re great or good at.
  2. Get competent people to do the rest.

Simple as that.

In this context, another word of caution. Several people begin a business just on a whim, without paying any attention to the idea, its viability, potential challenges and other issues. I know of many people, for whom a start up began “just like that” i.e. someone was looking for work and a cousin had enough capital in hands and two joined hands to set a business.

But most often, such ventures come a cropper as the founders had never paid any attention to the issues of their own compatibility with each other, the convergence of their visions, personality issues and potential areas of conflict. The most common result in such cases is that the enterprise sinks without a trace.

  1. Hire action-takers

No business takes off based on just an idea. It is the execution part which transforms an idea into a revenue-generating business. Before you think of anything else, consider candidates for the hard skills they have. Why the emphasis on core competencies? Startups can be gruelling and move at a rapid pace. Challenges are thrown at you at every step. So it is imperative to have team members with the agility to deal with problems quickly. Given the competitive nature of your business, you also need resourceful guys.

Similarly, innovation and creative solutions are critical assets for a start-up. Many entrepreneurs wait until things actually go wrong and then scramble to fix it. Think of the potential challenges from the beginning and build a team that can handle whatever comes its way.

  1. Team for the long run

The startup phase is a temporary one. Right? Though many businesses don’t make it past this initial phase, you would like your trajectory to be different. So, it important to build a team for the long term with the entire organization’s structure in mind. Consider a long-term vision for your business. Write down all the departments you will need to bring it to reality.

Marketing and sales

Product design and development

Accounting and finance

Research and development

You don’t need a team member to represent every possible function, at least not in the beginning. Think of functions necessary to give life to a minimal version of your business.

  1. Customer Service

Customer service need not be the sole responsibility of one department. Every team member should be driven by a desire to serve the consumer. If you build a team that always places your customers in the centre, you’ll have no trouble meeting your revenue goals. When you start off, you may not have the resources to have a large team, which means everybody may be involved in the sales and marketing functions.

  1. Personalities

A sure-fire way to sink your startup is to hire people who don’t get along. Constant friction gets in the way of team work. Of course, a particular personality trait need not be a qualifying factor to join your team. In fact, you want a diverse group. But you should get to know your team.

What are their traits?

What are their skill sets?

What are their dreams and aspirations?

Dreams Gone Sour Start-ups are an infectious lot – a single one can begin a great many, which in turn, […]

How to write a job-winning resume?

How to write a job-winning resume?

Does your resume keep getting rejected? It happens to a lot of people. You see them pitching their resumes to a huge pile of companies and yet, they don’t get the job. So what’s the deal?

A lot of people have the same resume, but it doesn’t even cut the mustard. Why? They try to make it different so that it seems more appealing to a potential employer. I’m not saying that the resume is completely useless. There are many resumes out there that would be great for that position you’re applying for. The question is, do you have the right one?

To make yours stand out from the rest, you need to tweak it a little bit. Don’t go crazy with the formatting. Just try to follow the basic resume writing guidelines, and you’ll be fine.

Being an entrepreneur, I am always hiring new employees. My hunt for finding the right person depends on a lot of things. I check some specific points in people’s resumes to make sure they are a perfect fit. I have shared many quick tips and tricks to follow to write a job-winning resume.

Most recruiters want to see a detailed summary of your qualifications, as well as a list of skills you have. They want to know your biggest challenges, strengths, and areas of specialization. It will show them what makes you stand out from the crowd. Do you get lots of phone calls from outside the country? Make this part of your resume.

Do you like to tell a story in your resume? Let your story show up in your resume. What do you have to offer an employer? How can you highlight something that would interest them? All of these things should be on your resume. Do you have any special skills or talents that are underrepresented at your current company? Your past achievements will tell an employer how you’re progressing. Show them what you’ve learned from your past and how you can help a future employer. Include any awards you might have received or certifications that make you an outstanding candidate. You can take consultation by career coach who can guide you through a job search, interviews, resumes, promotions, and everything in between.

Does your resume keep getting rejected? Here’s how to fix it!

When a reader gets a resume they have to simply glance through it to figure out what you’re trying to say. If there are a lot of details on your resume, it may get lost in the clutter. If you have plenty of skills and experience, this will stand out.

Do your research!

It’s always a good idea to find out what others are saying about you and your career before you send out your resume. Searching for this information online will give you plenty of hints and tips. Don’t forget to answer any questions that you might have when you get your resume back!

Do you ever wonder why certain questions keep coming up when you’re applying for a job? Sometimes a question will come up, which is a hint that you’re not that fit for the job. The interviewer will ask you these questions as a way to determine if you have the right fit for their company. Most often than not, they’ll give you a negative response, and that will set you back.

First, take time to think about the questions that you’re answering incorrectly. Then, correct these errors! For example, if you’re thinking about an answer like “I would choose to” instead of just “I will.” If you know what you’re answering wrong, take a minute to write down the mistake and then start re-reading your speech.

Lastly, don’t let the rejection keep you from continuing your search for a great job. Keep looking for jobs, and keep sending your resume out! Employers don’t usually reject a resume right away, so don’t give up until you have received one interview.

Don’t give up! It may take a few times before you are finally recognized, but at the same time, it doesn’t have to stop you. Keep writing, and keep asking for interviews.

5 common reasons why a resume gets rejected:

You should take note that it is very common to get your resume rejected, but you should not get frustrated at it. Below are some of the reasons why your resume gets rejected.

  • The first and the most common reason why a resume gets rejected is that the employer does not have any related experiences in your field. It is one of the hardest things to do. But this is something that is not impossible to do. You will still be able to get a job. In fact, if you are prepared enough and if you have the right answer for the employers then you will have a better chance to get the job.
  • Another common reason why your resume might get rejected is that you have not included information that the employer was looking for. This information is required when you are applying for the job. Some of the crucial details required when you are applying for the job include your address, contact numbers, and work experience.
  • Another reason can be because of irrelevant information. Some of the other reasons include that the employer found some things in your resume that they did not like.
  • Some of the common reasons why people have their resumes rejected include irrelevant information, grammar and spelling errors, and incorrect punctuations and sentence structure. All these things affect your chances of being accepted. These things should be corrected by any professional editing services before you send the resume. If you do not check your resume, the employer will get a template filled in for you.
  • Another common reason why your resume fails to get a job is that it contains wrong information. For example, if you are applying for a sales job, and you have listed on your resume that you have been certified in coaching salespeople, the employer will think that you are qualified for the job. However, this certification is not on your resume. So, when the interviewer asks you about it during the interview, you will not be able to convince him that you are qualified for the post. Make sure that your resume lists all the facts related to your expertise and education, and this should be sufficient reason for the employer to consider you for the job.

4 Amazing Resume Writing Tips

Here are some tips to fix your resume to minimize the possibility of getting rejected:

  • Differentiate Yourself

When you are looking for the best way to distinguish yourself from the rest of the job seekers out there, what can you do to make sure that your resume stands out and gets you noticed? Of course, one way to do this is to show your expertise. In other words, when you have differentiated yourself from the rest of the pack by pointing out your specific skills, experience, education, and other attributes that make you an expert in your particular field, it will immediately set you apart from other candidates who might be vying for the same position.

One way to do this is to fix your resume to emphasize these differentiating factors in the most effective way. Another way is to emphasize your unique selling point(s) or personal branding that directly relates to your skills and expertise.

There are many experts in the business of resumes who have written extensively about this matter and have dozens of tips and tricks to help you separate yourself from the rest of the pack. Of course, you don’t need to follow these people’s advice exactly to make yourself stand out from the crowd. What you need to do instead is to take out the aspects that may be doing you no favors and highlight the positives. In other words, instead of going for a major sales page and putting everything you think is important in there, try toning it down, and focusing on your strong points-this will certainly be more appealing to your prospective employer.

  • Use Relevant Keywords

When you are writing a resume, it is important to use relevant keywords in it. However, some people make the mistake of putting irrelevant keywords in their resumes. It will affect the way the recruiter reads it and will likely make him/her think that your resume is not that impressive. In order to get the recruiter’s attention, make sure that the keywords that you will be using in your resume are related to the job profile or the company that you are applying for. Make sure also that they are present in your resume in a meaningful way.

One important thing about keywords is that they must be placed in a place where they will be seen by the employer. You can do this by using them in the header or footer of your resume, in the first few sentences of your resume, and even in the summary or “about” section. The keywords you choose should be relevant to the company or the job profile.

In conclusion, you need to use relevant keywords in your resume if you want to stand out from the rest of the applicants. By using relevant keywords in your resume, you will be able to make yourself stand out from the rest of the pack – in the eyes of the employer. Your resume will be more interesting and professional.

  • Express Your Personal Brand and Unique Value

Expressing your Personal Brand and Unique Value by incorporating an objective statement in your resume can help you express your personal brand and what you bring to a prospective employer. To really show your potential for success in different types of careers, you should show your personality and strengths that the employer is sure to find attractive. The first step to doing this is to write down a short description about you that explains to the potential employer what makes you different from everyone else applying for the same position. Here are some sample things to include in your resume: your career achievements, what makes you so proud, what makes you stand out from the crowd, and what makes you different from other applicants.

Expressing your unique brand and value will help you set yourself apart from the rest of the applicants. It will build your credibility as well as demonstrate to the potential employer that you have a unique way of looking at problems and developing solutions that will make them better in the future. When it comes to resumes, there are many different fonts, colors, and styles to choose from. You must pick up on the type of resume that you want to present to the prospective employer. Your resume will be the first impression that they will get of you so make sure that it stands out and that it is reflective of who you are.

Expressing your brand and unique value to a potential employer is a great way to separate yourself from the competition. The first impression that your resume will make is with the potential employer, and you must take the time to make an outstanding first impression. A poorly written resume can cost you job opportunities, and it can cost you the chance to obtain that dream job. If you are truly committed to building a powerful brand, then hiring a resume writer or professional resume editing service will be a smart investment.

  • Always Tailor Your Resume

It is a basic yet important fact that people who are searching for jobs or are already employed must always remember. It is not only important to have a well-written resume, but it is also crucial to tailor the resume to suit the requirements of various companies. Tailoring the resume simply means – must make the resume as detailed and must mention all achievements, strengths, skills, and personal interests, and remember to keep track of correct information as per the job application that would apply to any company. It is one of the most critical aspects of resume writing, where a professional resume can make or break the job, especially in today’s highly competitive scenario. Therefore, people are advised to always tailor their resumes according to the company profile.

For instance, there are many times when a person applying for a specific job posting, such as “Human Resources” or “Finance” will be asked to tailor their resume to the specific job posting. If the applicant is applying for an entry-level position, then he/she must do deep research on the job posting. A good example of this is when a person applies for a casual or part-time job, then it is very important to mention all relevant experience in the resume, which includes the exact dates, names, responsibilities, titles, locations, and dates worked. These will help in highlighting specific skills that would qualify the applicant for the job and can help to land the job.

Tailoring a resume is also crucial because many times a resume may be written with errors such as irrelevant information, incorrect contact details, wrong information, outdated information, and others. These mistakes will greatly hamper the career of the individual. Such resumes will not be considered properly when compared to the other applicants who were able to get through the initial recruitment process successfully. It is where resume examples can come in very handy. When an individual gets the right kind of assistance, then one can save a lot of time by avoiding common mistakes and making sure that the information provided is true, honest, and up-to-date.

Conclusion

If you know the basics of the process involved, then it is very easy for you to fix the resume, especially when you have had a taste of success in the field. One of the first things that the person who rejected your resume will do is to go through all of the skills and experience that you have listed on your resume.

A lot of people are confused when they’re told to keep refinishing their resumes. They get discouraged and lose hope, thinking that nothing good will ever stand out on a job-hunting horizon. While this might be true for some people who have written a stellar curriculum vitae and whose resumes are nowhere near the top of the pile, it’s definitely not the rule for everyone. Keep refining your resume and keep applying. The time you spend honing and refining it will pay off sooner or later.

The company wants to hire someone who fits into the company. If you have an eye for detail and can provide a polished resume that highlights your skills, you will probably be hired right away. So, keep refining your resume and keep applying. Good luck!

Set Your Small Business Up For Success In the Long Run

Set Your Small Business Up For Success In the Long Run

Your Small Business has to be on top of its game to be successful. When operating a small business, sometimes it’s easy to let the technical side of things slip as you concentrate on delivering your product. Yet remaining on top of matters is key to ensuring long-term success and continued growth. Sometimes you can take some external help, but if you use a well-designed, implemented business plan, you’ll soon be back at what you enjoy providing- great customer service to your clients. Let’s take a look at what goes into a well-strategized business plan.

You’ve got to ask yourself – what do I want from my business? What services or products do I need to provide? Are there any other resources that I might need to tap into? All of these things need to be thought through very carefully and need to be planned for accordingly. That means having a clear vision and mission statement for your business from the outset.

Once you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve, you need to be sure you’re meeting your objectives. In this way, you have a head start on reaching your goals and have a solid foundation upon which to build your business. It is all-important because without building a strong foundation, you run the risk of slipping into irrelevancy. Let’s take a look at a few examples of how you can set your Small Business up for success:

Building a Great Customer Relations Program

Customer satisfaction is vital for the success of any business. A person is a potential customer, and therefore you want to make sure you are providing them with everything they’d expect from your company. A great customer satisfaction program needs to provide a variety of services and features, all of which are designed to ensure customer satisfaction. This way you get repeaedt customers and win over new ones. Make your customers happy. The last thing you want to do is provide a lousy product, lousy service, or a substandard level of support for your customer – they’ll go elsewhere. The aim of your marketing materials and the products and services you offer needs to be customer-pleasing in every aspect.

Advertising and Marketing Your Small Business

The cost of running a small business can be quite high, so you need to set your small business up for success with advertising and marketing. The most successful businesses often advertise online as well as offline, with most newspapers now offering online advertising as well. If you’re not familiar with advertising or marketing, however, you’ll need to hire a professional who can help you get the word out about your small business. Don’t try to save money by doing it yourself – it will be more expensive than you might think.

Set Up a Bank Account and Other Accounts For Success

Running a business can be very difficult financially, especially if you have no experience. That’s why it’s important to set up a bank account and other accounts for success. Some small businesses fail because they don’t have any money to advertise and market, so having a bank account is important to your success as a small business. Also, having multiple accounts gives you the power to do whatever you need to do to grow your business.

Why is a Business Plan important?

You may not know this but if you want to successfully set up a business of your own then you must write a business plan. The main reason for this is because without having one your business is like a ship that has gone out to sea with no GPS and no way to know where you are heading. In your business planning you can consider corporate counselling service by corporate counselor, which help you to take wise decision for you business.

So how can you set your small business up for success? Well, there are several ways that you can go about doing this, but I think in general the best way of doing this is to get together with a few people who have an interest in business and then start putting together a game plan. Having a business plan together will show the investors that you are serious about setting up a business and that you have everything that they need to understand just what your business will be about. Without having this all they will see is a bunch of vague statements and ideas that they will more than likely take as being completely irrelevant to them when they make their investment decisions. By having a business plan, they will see that you have put thought into all of your decisions, and this is usually good evidence that you indeed know what you are doing.

Of course, before you can successfully set up a small business you will first need to get your idea or concept ready so that you can then go about building it. You may even want to talk with some of the investors that you have been talking to and see what advice or input they have on things that you need to do to get your idea ready to present to a potential investor. This way you can be assured that your idea is sound and is going to be a viable business venture for you to take advantage of. That way you can set up your small business for success.
