During my journey as a life coach, I come across many people who face problems and discuss their poorly attended official meetings, conferences, presentations, conflicts with their loved ones, etc. Some of them are so educated and talented but still struggle to face such problems. I used to wonder what is the reason behind their aggressiveness and struggles.
And when I worked in identifying their problems, I figured out that they were struggling to use the strength of good communication skills they have already.
As mentioned earlier, communication is that simple word that can either care the way for your whole path or shut all the ways for you to get there. So, Improving communication skills is very important. For Example — An educated man, who is talented, educated, owns a company, has a big project coming up with a big the collaborating agency, and had a task to choose five different looking models for the upcoming fashion shoot with the collaborating agency.
At the time of his presentation, when we showed his models, he stated,” Here I present the fantastic five pieces of beauty created by God. However, the description wanted to get the girls of plus size as well, but I think that models with 0 figure will only fit in the fashion shoot rather than some normal looking pieces of fat’’.
Listening to which the CEO of the big collaborating agency canceled the deal and said, the point you mentioned was good, but the way of mentioning is not at all accepted here. The example mentioned above clearly states the importance of using the right words for communication and how to communicate with people to put the right perspective and context in front of the listener. Self-check –
Excellent communication has no alternative. So, to get it right, it is necessary to ensure that you are ready to communicate the right thing. A smart step is to take a look at your own confidence level, awareness, and expertise on the subject you are going to talk about. It is important to bring the right thought by first preparing yourself through the self-check formula of communication.
Analyze Your Audience –
It is necessary to analyze the audience and ding out who you are about to talk to. They may be from exclusive regions, cultures, or even have different mindsets, so the speaker is required to analyze and check the nature and character of the other personality in the conversation to have healthy and productive communication.
Develop Trust –
In a conversation, when we say or put some statement of trust, it is very important to stick to those words and not change them according to the situations. Situation-friendly decisions can put you into problems and create a bad picture of you and your organization in front of the listener. So, develop trust by always choosing wise offers and statements.
Make The Use Of Right Words –
While having a conversation, it is very important to choose the right words to state your feeling and thought in front of the listen. The wrong usage of words can be the reason for the misinterpretation of your thoughts by the other person in the conversation.
Follow The Art Of Listening –
The nine thoughts to a one-word formula, which I believe in, is the best way to learn and follow the art of listening. In this, one must learn and try to listen to the information provided and then respond to it after comprehending it properly. This seems to be very easy but is actually one of the most difficult tasks of the whole communication process.
It’s Okay To Take A Pause –
Sounds strange, right? But taking pauses between your conversation makes a communication stand out. Sometimes eagerly replying makes us miss some points that might help us to keep the conversation going on productively from your end. So, take a pause and understand the behavior of another one if they are interested in the conversation or not.
Be curious –
Be curious to ask questions. Putting out your queries will not only clear out doubts but also make an effect on a person that you are interested in the conversation.
A Touch Of Humor –
Adding a little humor in your communication skills is like a cherry on the cake. When the touch of entertainment is added to the conversation, it makes it more interesting and engages the other people as well.
Provide Feedback –
It’s always an excellent step to follow if you want to end your conversation on a very productive note. Provide feedback for what you have learned and what is your thought for the same. When we provide such input to the other person in the conversation, it helps them understand the result of their efforts and make them realize that you were actively listening.

Communication is an act of sending information or ideas via speech, expressions, visuals, writing, or any other such method. Communication skills are the skills that a sender sends the message and the receiver which is receiving the message.
While explaining the actual meaning of effective communication skills, I will state, “Communication Skills Are The Way To Reach Out The Other People By Expressing Your Inner Thoughts And Making Them Understand Using Some Specific Techniques”.
The communication techniques mentioned above are the types of communication that people use to express and connect to the other person. The techniques can be termed as the ways to connect a sender and receiver.

Verbal conversation is known as Oral communication. In simple words, any conversation that takes place orally between humans is known as verbal communication. The goal of such communications is to make sure that humans understand anything you desire to convey.
Non-verbal Communication
Non-verbal communication includes facial expressions, tone of the voice, signs displayed through body language, and the dynamic distance between the communicators. These non-verbal signs can supply clues and hints for meaning over and above spoken (verbal) communication.
Written Communication
Written verbal communication is the most common mode of business communication. In any organization, the electronic mails, memos, reports, documents, letters, journals, job descriptions, employee manuals, etc. are some of the many examples used in the forms of written communication.
Visual Communication
Visual verbal communication is something that can be executed through sight. It can be whatever you see through eye contact like, map, chart, facial expression, signals, and poster. You can also encompass the graphics, books, animation, illustration, painting, interactive net design, advertising, and quick film. All these come with a message in a stunning way. These can be extra impressive than the words.
Formal vs. Informal Communication
Formal communication is a conversation thru predefined channels set by using organizations. They are normally conveyed from organizational management to quite a several departments that convey the information down to the employees. Where Informal verbal communication is more relational than formal. It is not backed through any predetermined channels and can appear somewhere within the organization. The primary purpose of this messaging is to maintain and establish relationships with colleagues and superiors and subordinates.
